How to use and precautions for Pressure steam sterilizer autoclave

Correct Operation :

Take out the inner barrel, and then add an appropriate amount of water to the outer pot. When the water surface is level with the triangular shelf, it is OK. It should be noted that the mouth of the triangular flask and the test tube should not touch the barrel wall. This is because we do not want the condensed water to wet the paper wrapped at the mouth and penetrate the cotton plug.

During the operation, we often make a mistake---adding the cover, we must insert the exhaust hose on the cover into the exhaust groove of the inner barrel. Then tighten the two opposite bolts in a symmetrical way at the same time, and do not let it leak.

After the sterilization is completed, be sure to cut off the power supply and let the temperature in the steamer drop naturally. When the pressure of the pressure gauge drops to 0, open the exhaust valve, loosen the bolts, open the lid, and carefully take out the items. If the pressure gauge does not drop to 0, be sure not to open the exhaust valve. At this time, as long as the exhaust valve is opened, the pressure in the pot will suddenly drop, causing the culture medium in the container to rush out of the flask mouth due to the imbalance of internal and external pressures. This will cause the cotton plug to be contaminated with the culture medium and our operation will end in failure.

Routine cleanning process :

When performing routine cleaning on the high-pressure steam sterilizer, first soak and scrub with detergent solution to remove oil, blood and other dirt on the items, and then rinse with running water.

Instruments and other items with joints, tooth grooves and gaps should be opened or disassembled as much as possible for washing.

After washing, the items should be wiped dry and packaged according to clinical needs to avoid re-contamination.

The containers and transportation tools of the items before and after contamination should be strictly distinguished and clearly marked to prevent cross infection.

Precautions :

1. Check the grounding of the sterilizer power cord regularly.

2. The sterilizer should be placed in a ventilated and dry room without flammable and explosive items.

3. The exhaust valve has been calibrated at the factory, and the lead seal and screws on the valve must not be removed at will.

4. The stacked items must not exceed 4/5 of the total volume.

5. Do not attach oil to the sealing ring to avoid damaging the colloid and causing air leakage.

6. It is strictly forbidden to sterilize chemicals that may cause explosions or sudden pressure increases when in contact with steam media.

7. When stacking items in the sterilizer, it is strictly forbidden to block the exhaust valve's air outlet. Space must be left for air to flow freely, otherwise the exhaust valve will not be able to work due to the blockage of the air outlet.
